One of the five political parties – Bhutan Kuen-Nyam party’s letter of intent was rejected by the Election Commission of Bhutan on the ground that the party had no candidates for both the constituencies of Gasa. It had only two individuals in the dzongkhag as its registered members of which one is not even a registered voter. Though the other four parties appealed to ECB regarding this, the Commission refused to retract its decision saying that it was as per the Constitution and electoral laws.
