The National Assembly’s acceptance of the DPT President and former Prime Minister, Jigmi Y Thinley’s resignation was announced formally on August 11.National Assembly Speaker Jigme Zangpo said the court order has to be issued to the Election Commission to have the by-election for the Nanong-Shumar constituency within 90 days of seat vacancy. Then the report has to be submitted to the King. While announcing this, the Tshogpoen mentioned that Jigmi Y Thinley’s service to the nation for more than four decades had been laudable. Jigmi Y Thinley submitted his resignation to the National Assembly on July 31.
