Beginning today, India will be hosting His Majesty the King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck along with Azhi Jetsun Pema on a five-day visit. The royal couple is visiting the country on the invitation of the President of India, Dr Pranab Mukherjee. Home minister Damcho Dorji, foreign minister Rinzin Dorji, economic affairs minister Norbu Wangchuk and other senior government officials are accompanying Their Majesties. One of the highlights of the king’s visit will be his stay at the renovated ‘Dwarka’ suite in the Rashtrapati Bhavan. His Majesty will be the first foreign head of state in nearly two decades to stay at the suite.
