It is the ancestral home of the Royal Family and was formerly known as Kurtoe.
The high route over Rodong La was a major trade route until the road to Mongar was completed. The village of Khoma is famous for its exquisite hand-woven textiles known as the khusuthara. Since there is no actual village in Lhuentse, there’s little to see but don’t forget to make a visit to the picturesque dzong a part of your itinerary.
